Unwanted Lock-out mode!
A few customers have found that their Hollowform fork may automatically change into lockout mode (without lever being thrown). This problem can be avoided by correct adjustment of the lock-out cable adjuster. Please follow this simple set-up procedure;
Lock-out Cable set-up.
At the lock-out lever, wind the knurled cable adjuster all the way in. Outer cable should then have end play. Press down on forks rapidly and suspension should compress with no sign of fork locking out. Rotate knurled cable adjuster out half a turn and test fork again. Repeat this exercise until the point is reached when fork is compressed and lock-out operates.
Lock-out is now set correctly. Winding out the knurled cable adjuster any more may create two problems. Firstly lever may flick off automatically, in which case lever grub screw may need winding in creating an excessive amount of pressure in lever and possible damage to detent holes in lever itself. Secondly lock-out valve inside fork will be virtually closed (close to lock-out position), and a high speed impact could cause hydraulic pressure to rise so rapidly that valve is operated . Being so close to lock-out, valve may close and lock-out mode engaged.
