What's 'All-Mountain'?
The RC40 and RC41 models are designated as All-Mountain products, but exactly how would we define what constitutes All-Mountain and how is it different to Freeride?
This is what the Manual says...
'Intended use of your RC40/41
This product is a lightweight suspension fork. Make sure that you use this product for its intended purpose, namely Cross-Country, Enduro/marathon and All Mountain. This includes riding along moderately rocky trails where roots, depressions and small jumps may be encountered. These models are not intended for Extreme Freeride, Downhill or Dirt jumping where high jumps, fallen trees, large holes and big boulders or other large obstacles are ridden.
Only ride on trails or in areas designated for the appropriate use of this product.'
So if you're riding colour graded trails in say Scotland or Wales, Red, Black, Single Black Diamond no problem. Double Black Diamond only ride if you're skilled- very heavy landings/nose dives are not what these lightweight products are designed for.
If you're riding overseas- Colorado trails no problem- Downhill and Freeride Park not suitable. Whilstler trails no-problem but again Black Diamond trails not suitable. European Alpine trails OK, downhill or off-piste not suitable.
Enjoy your Pace fork and have a good ride.
