SITUATIONS VACANT- Suspension Development and Production Engineer
A very rare opportunity to join one of the few European based cycle component manufacturers, and to make your mark in this exciting industry. Pace Cycles are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic engineer to join our design and production team. We are established as suppliers of high innovation/ high quality suspension units to the mountain bike aftermarket and this appointment will require a talented engineer with vision and a broad range of skills.
Mountain bike suspension is the most technically progressive and demanding sector of the whole mountain bike component market, which means that there is never a dull moment as the latest technologies and materials are engineered into products equal to any found in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Pace Cycles are based in one of the most attractive areas of the country on the fringes of the North Moors National Park. Post; Suspension Development and Production Engineer
Main Duties
- Ensure products are consistently produced using best engineering practice to create highest quality product
- Assist in design and production of jigs and tools required during manufacture
- Where production of in-house cnc machined parts are required, write programmes, operate cnc's and produce components to schedule
- Assist in design and development working as part of R&D team
General Duties
- Order materials
- General milling, turning
- Liase with production staff providing day to day engineering support
- Assist in production where required
Skills,experience, qualification
- Ability to work in a team and efficiently communicate with design and production staff
- Qualified to HND minimum
- Experience of cnc programming (Fanuc)
- Comprehensive knowledge, experience and understanding of general machine tool operations throughout an engineering workshop
- Full knowledge of materials technology
- Ability to read detailed drawings as required
Ability to operate AutoCAD an advantage, as would be practical experience within hydraulics or or suspension fields.
