Lock-out lever position-factory recommendation

Lock-out lever positioning

The remote lever found on both Hollowform RC36 and RC38 models is designed so that it works most efficiently when positioned alongside the righthand. Ideally do not position clamp on left side of handlebar nor so that lever is beneath handlbaror at an angle other than horizontal.

Factory recommended position.  First remove grip and brake/gear lever and slide lock-out clamp into position with lever on top of bar in a level atitude. Refit controls and grip. With right hand on grip position lock-out clamp so that thumb can freely swing up to neatly meet foward lever. Lever should swing forward without fouling against other controls (clamp is designed to mount underneath Shimano gear-indicator). Tighten M4 clamping screw to 13inlbs/1.5Nm.

Set up this way the ergonomics of the lever will  work most efficiently. Note that lock-out cable should pass beneath stem and when positioned and mounted correctly should be of sufficient length for most configurations of cross-country handlebar/stems.

Please see separate posting on this site which details correct cable adjustment procedure.
