Sneak peak at the 2004 RC40 prototype
The RC40 fork is Paces' entry into the long travel single crown market, and is due for launch in September 2003 (available Spring 2004). It is an additional fork to the range and will be available in two guises - the RC40XC and the RC40Xtreme. This fork is already being field tested and test results are really impressive. See prototype outline spec' below.
One of the features is Paces' unique 'Auto-Off' lockout. Paces' take is that the rider should have control over the lock-out rather than this being factory set, so the Auto-Off is a semi-automatic system where the rider can lock out the fork by simply tapping down the crown mounted dial. However as soon as the bike dives down the first trail and the fork senses load (an obstacle) it automatically switches back to suspension mode. The rider can set this Auto-Off threshold to suit his own needs.
RC40XC Outline Spec' includes; 125mm travel, externally adjustable. Auto-Off Lock-out. Hollowform Carbon Fibre slider with totally new dropouts and wiper seals, 32mm aluminium stanchions fitted into our wild new 7075T6 Hollowform crown (see pic). Open bath damping, coil sprung, external rebound and compression adjustment.
